MORE THAN JUST A PAINKILLER
Cannabis is a pain killer. This has been widely known for thousands of years. Even without all the modern scientific data to reinforce it, cannabis is clearly, indisputably a pain killer. Anyone who has ever had cannabis while hungover, or while they have a headache, can attest to this fact. It relaxes your muscles. If you have eye strain it relaxes your eyes.
CBD: NOT JUST FOR HEADACHES
What is becoming clear is that CBD is not just a mild pain killer. It isn’t merely an alternative to paracetamol. Yes, it can get rid of a stubborn headache, and ease a hangover. But it can do much, much more.
You can also rub it on your temples to reduce the pain.
It can be used to treat severe migraines, the effects of chemotherapy, the pain of multiple sclerosis, of fibromyalgia, of and dozens of other chronic pain conditions – conditions which blight millions of lives.
Pain, tension, loss of appetite (also as a side-effect of chemotherapy), overweight, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, anxiety disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, nervous diseases, inflammation, allergies, skin diseases, asthma and sleep disorders can be treated with CBD oil gently.
The contained cannabinoids block the CB1 receptors in the brain, alleviating stress-related disorders of the psyche and nerves, but also autoimmune diseases. The balancing and harmonizing effect of CBD, as well as the anti-inflammatory effect, can bring relief to countless health ailments.
CBD stands for “cannabidiol,” one of the major active compounds of the cannabis plant.
It also happens to be the source of most of the weed’s medicinal effects, and it doesn’t get you high.
CBD oils are either derived from the flowering parts of the cannabis plant, or from the fibers of its main stalk (i.e. hemp). Interestingly, this is what can make some CBD oil perfectly legal in places where cannabis is prohibited.
Actually, only part of the plant is illegal. The part that produces hemp fiber is generally legal, which means that CBD made from it is legal to possess and use.
The DEA recently clarified the issue with CBD oil by walking back prior statements that the cannabinoid was illegal in all instances. They acknowledged that CBD itself isn’t illegal. CBD oil is legal or illegal depending on its source, the DEA said.
