Rewire for Confidence

Rewiring the Brain

The adult brain is much more changeable and modifiable than had previously been believed. There is now a large amount of evidence to show that damaged neural (brain) circuitry resulting from severe childhood trauma can be corrected, reshaping our brain anatomy and consequent behaviour, with the right kind of therapeutic interventions. In other words, it is now clear that brain architecture continues to change throughout adulthood, and this can be manipulated in highly beneficial directions

Your brain is constantly adapting and rewiring itself. Your thoughts and behaviors influence this process. If certain thoughts and behaviors are repeated often enough, a strong connection, also known as a neural pathway, is created.

One reason why it is so difficult to change the way you think, feel, and behave is that your beliefs and corresponding neural pathways have been formed early in life. They have been reinforced and strengthened, over and over again. In other words, your brain activity has carved out a deep and well traveled road. If that road remains and no new roads are built and strengthened, it is very difficult to change your ways, and you will easily fall back into old patterns. Creating and strengthening new, positive neural pathways is an essential part of achieving lasting change.

The good news is that we all have the ability to learn and change by rewiring our brains. If you have ever changed a bad habit, or thought about something differently, you have carved a new pathway in your brain, experiencing neuroplasticity firsthand. With repeated and directed attention towards your desired change, you can effectively rewire your brain to move forward and live a healthy, abundant life.

So to be confident is to take action, but how does one begin acting confidently? Practice playing the confidence scales, i.e., take small steps in your daily life that accumulate into confidence.

  • Reinforce and internalize every positive experience, no matter how small.
  • Remember, in detail, the best memories you have had when you were confident or really in a flow state.
  • Intentionally call up your strengths and focus on how good it is to feel strong, confident, etc…
  • Set goals (intentions) and be sure all levels of your nervous system (thoughts, emotions, intentions, arousal) are all in sync. Then, act as if you have already achieved your goal.

Consciously practice thinking, feeling, visualizing and acting in alignment with your desired intention. When you do this you will stop the unconscious habit of recycling the past and activate your ability to rewire your brain in the present moment.

Power Poses – When we change our physiology we change the way we think, act and behave.

Reiki and Meditation

Creating Focus

Usui Sensei taught his students the first pillar of Reiki, the Gassho meditation. Gassho means “two hands coming together”. Dr. Usui taught his students to place their hands in the Gassho position every morning and evening. Gassho teaches the art of quieting the mind and creating single pointed focus in meditation.

One basically places their hands in prayer position, closes their eyes, and brings all their awareness to the tip of the fire (middle) finger. When the mind wanders, gently press the fire fingers together and refocus. This technique is detailed in “Reiki the Healing Touch”.

I begin my daily sessions with Gassho, and then I offer prayers for myself, for others and the planet. Next I send distant Reiki to all who have requested it.

Below is a sample of a 21 day reiki meditation programme

A 21-Day Reiki Meditation Program

You can use this 21-day program to learn more about Reiki, develop the ability to focus, to empower my prayers, goals and visions; and to receive answers.

Days 1-7 – Begin by creating an intention or a question. Draw the Usui power symbol in front of your body and with your hands, move the energy into your solar plexus. Breathe deeply, imagining that you are breathing in the essence of the symbol. As you exhale allow the energy to permeate every cell of your body, and expand out into your emotional body, your mental body, all the way into your spiritual body.

State your intention or ask your question. Sit quietly with this energy for 5-15 minutes. If your mind wanders, simply invoke the name of the power symbol three times and visualize it.

When you finish, acknowledge that you are holding the full light of the Reiki energy and it will be with you through your day.

Write notes about your experience in a journal. Include any thoughts, words, images or feelings that came to you.

Do this even if there seems to be no logic to it. Often Reiki and the Divine speak to us in symbols, or with pieces of a puzzle that will come together later by reflecting back on your journal.

Days 8-14 – Begin by creating an intention or a question. Draw the Usui mental and emotional symbol in front of your body and with your hands, move the energy into your heart. Breathe deeply, imagining that you are breathing in the essence of the symbol. As you exhale allow the energy to permeate every cell of your body, and expand out into your emotional body, your mental body, all the way into your spiritual body.

Imagine any unhealthy mental or emotional patterns being rewoven into healthy thought, feeling and response patterns. State your intention or ask your question. Sit quietly with this energy for 5-15 minutes.

If your mind wanders, simply invoke the name of the mental emotional symbol three times and visualize it.

When you finish, acknowledge that you are holding the full love of the Reiki energy and it will be with you through your day. Write notes about your experience in a journal.

Days 15-21 – Begin by creating an intention or a question.Draw the Usui distant healing symbol in front of your body and with your hands, move the energy into your entire body beginning by moving the energy from the crown and down through your feet.

Breathe deeply, imagining that you are breathing in the essence of the symbol. As you exhale allow the energy to permeate every cell of your body, and expand out into your energy field.State your intention or ask your question.

Take a moment to imagine or visualize the symbol taking the form of a bridge of light. This bridge reaches through time and through space. Allow the bridge of light to carry Reiki energy back in time as it permeates all levels of your consciousness and the multiple dimensions of your being.

Next allow the energy to flow forward in time creating harmonious energy in your future. Now bring the energy into the present moment.

Sit quietly with this energy for 5-15 minutes. If your mind wanders, simply invoke the name of the distant symbol three times and visualize it. When you finish, acknowledge that you are holding the timeless healing power of the Reiki energy and it will be with you through your day. Write notes about your experience in a journal.

This 21 day program is designed for those who are attuned to level two Reiki. Level I practitioners could modify it using level I energy instead of the symbols. It is possible to also extend the program for another 21 days by replacing the symbols with the three Reiki Master symbols, or with the Karuna symbols of your choice.

I hope you find these suggestions helpful, and that you are willing to explore the importance of creating special time to deepen your relationship with the Divine and the love of the Reiki energy.

Tapping summit has begun

EFT

The 2018 Tapping Summit began yesterday and it’s free. As long as you listen to the audio on the day, it let’s you listen for free for 24 hours so guys don’t miss a day as it has some amazing tools for you to learn if your interested in self healing.

I discovered tapping through my Reiki Master when I was telling her I was feeling anxious. All this healing work and meditation on myself was bringing up old stuff from my past and making me feel anxious about everything. This made me feel like a failure in what I was doing and unable to feel confident in helping others heal as well. So she advised me of the tapping routine and wow wow wow it honestly does work. I felt so much more calm right after just a five minute routine.

The tapping solution —

What is tapping?

Millions of people are settling for lives filled with poor health and emotional baggage. Not knowing how to achieve the joyful and satisfying lives they desire, they’re stuck accepting a lifestyle of emotional trauma, chronic physical pain, compulsions and addictions, or perhaps just an empty feeling inside. Along with these problems come pills to kill the pain, sleep at night, and suppress anxiety – but this is hardly better than the disease.

If you’re like many people, you feel trapped, caught in this cycle. You’re tired of feeling sad, depressed, anxious, discontent, and unwell. You’re sick of the expensive and ineffective treatments. You’re fed up with relinquishing the power over your health and happiness to psychologists and doctors. You’d like to grow, flourish, and thrive, putting the past in the past. You want to be your best, living a life that is filled with peacefulness, joy, and fulfillment, from day to day and moment to moment.

With Tapping, you can do that. You can discover the vital secret for emotional wholeness and physical relief. You can take your physical and emotional well-being into your own hands. It’s simple for anyone to master, and it’s free.

Tapping provides relief from chronic pain, emotional problems, disorders, addictions, phobias, post traumatic stress disorder, and physical diseases. While Tapping is newly set to revolutionize the field of health and wellness, the healing concepts that it’s based upon have been in practice in Eastern medicine for over 5,000 years. Like acupuncture and acupressure, Tapping is a set of techniques which utilize the body’s energy meridian points. You can stimulate these meridian points by tapping on them with your fingertips – literally tapping into your body’s own energy and healing power.

Your body is more powerful than you can imagine… filled with life, energy, and a compelling ability for self-healing. With Tapping, you can take control of that power.

So How Does It All Work?

All negative emotions are felt through a disruption of the body’s energy. And physical pain and disease are intricately connected to negative emotions. Health problems create feedback – physical symptoms cause emotional distress, and unresolved emotional problems manifest themselves through physical symptoms. So, the body’s health must be approached as a whole. You cannot treat the symptoms without addressing the cause, and vice-versa.

The body, like everything in the universe, is composed of energy. Restore balance to the body’s energy, and you will mend the negative emotions and physical symptoms that stem from the energy disruption. Tapping restores the body’s energy balance, and negative emotions are conquered.

The basic technique requires you to focus on the negative emotion at hand: a fear or anxiety, a bad memory, an unresolved problem, or anything that’s bothering you. While maintaining your mental focus on this issue, use your fingertips to tap 5-7 times each on 12 of the body’s meridian points. Tapping on these meridian points – while concentrating on accepting and resolving the negative emotion – will access your body’s energy, restoring it to a balanced state.

You may be wondering about these meridians. Put simply, energy circulates through your body along a specific network of channels. You can tap into this energy at any point along the system.

This concept comes from the doctrines of traditional Chinese medicine, which referred to the body’s energy as “ch’i.” In ancient times, the Chinese discovered 100 meridian points. They also discovered that by stimulating these meridian points, they could heal. Call it energy, call it the Source, call it life force, call it ch’i… Whatever you want to call it, it works.

In some ways, Tapping is similar to acupuncture. Like Tapping, acupuncture achieves healing through stimulating the body’s meridians and energy flow. However, unlike Tapping, acupuncture involves needles! “No needles” is definitely one of the advantages of Tapping.

Acupuncture also takes years to master. Acupuncture practitioners must memorize hundreds of meridian points along the body; the knowledge and training take years to acquire.

Tapping is simple and painless. It can be learned by anyone. And you can apply it to yourself, whenever you want, wherever you are. It’s less expensive and less time consuming. It can be used with specific emotional intent towards your own unique life challenges and experiences. Most importantly, it gives you the power to heal yourself, putting control over your destiny back into your own hands.

Helpful Responses To An Initial Awakening — The Kundalini Guide

The mind

http://www.kundaliniguide.com/help-for-initial-awakening/

After practicing kundalini this week I started noticing for the last three nights I would wake at 4 am and feel like I should get up, but last night I woke every hour. I did a bedtime kundalini routine this time instead of my usual morning one. I have had the most vivid dreams each night. I practiced kundalini last year and stopped to switch to Yin yoga and pilates as I had read far too much on kundalini energy and freaked myself out. Something keeps drawing me back to this energy, I don’t want to be scared of it but this time I am going to trust in it and know that it is for my highest good. Unless of course I can’t get my sleeping pattern back, then I may have to scream (dramatic Ahhhhhhhhhhh)

I would love to know of any others positive stories about kundalini energy or if you have had any side effects from this that you worked through.

Thank you kindly

Namaste

Terrified at dentist. Practice

heartmath

Sitting in the dentist waiting room awaiting treatment. It isn’t the nicest feeling that I am creating for myself at this present moment. The heart beating faster with every sound of the drill, the smell of mouth wash making my hands sweat.

So this is the perfect time to Practice heart coherence.

Pause and I’ll get back to you in a moment…………………

So I am feeling calm, even though I am still in this waiting room. I am focused on breathing in slowly as if the breath is going into my heart and my positive feeling is a visual of my blonde haired blue eyed little boy and the smell of his beautiful hair just out the shower and I’m wrapping him in a cosy towel whilst showering him with little kisses all over his face.

Sustaining this feeling for as long as I am in here. Whenever the sounds snd thoughts disturb me I am using them to go deeper into my breath really slowing it all down.

I am glad I am alone as no one is here to look at my smiling face.

I am so glad I found these techniques as they truly are a god send. Xx

Extra Ordinary Human

heartmath, The mind

Listening to Gregg Braden Live just now, he is just opening up my tiny mind to this New world.  I have read his book ‘The Divine Matrix’ and was fascinated by this book, his talks on Gaia.com are amazing.  His beliefs on Healing through thought alone and to change our lives and relationships, heal our bodies, and bring peace to our families and nations requires a simple yet precise shift in the way we use belief.

Fact 1: The universe, our world, and our bodies are made of a shared field of energy that was scientifically recognized in the 20th century and is now identified by names that include the field, the quantum hologram, the mind of God, nature’s mind, and the Divine Matrix.’
• Fact 2: In the field of the Divine Matrix, “things” that have been connected physically and then separated act as if they are still linked, through a phenomenon known as entanglement.

• Fact 3: Human DNA directly influences what happens in the Divine Matrix in a way that appears to defy the laws of time and space.’

Fact 4: Human belief (and the feelings and emotions surrounding it) directly changes the DNA that affects what occurs in the Divine Matrix.6

• Fact 5: When we shift our beliefs about our bodies and our world, the Divine Matrix translates that change into the reality of our lives!,
The more I hear and read about consciousness from the likes of Gregg Braden, Bruce Lipton, Dispenza and such like the more I realise that it all comes down to what we all probably already know, (well if your on this path of consciousness).  So we Ask the Universe, then we create the feelings within our heart and completely believe it, then with gratitude we say Thank you.

We need to filter out all the bullsh*t, the crap we are told, the facebook, snapchat world that is dulling us all down and really look for ourselves and discover what is really true.

Cut Thru Technique – Heart Math

heartmath, The mind

I have been using the HearthMath tools for sometime now and I find them to be beneficial in regards to my emotional wellbeing.  I also bought some of their books and find their techniques really useful.

Below is the Cut – Thru technique, I found it most useful when thinking about a problem I have, then imagining my close friend having this dilemma and what advise I would give them.  I always think we are so good and advising others but never too great at taking our own advise.

A HeartMath TIP:

Cut-Thru: Here’s a simple exercise adapted from the HeartMath Cut-Thru technique to help you achieve emotional coherence, which has been shown to improve the efficiency of the immune system.

  • Be aware of how you feel about an issue at hand.
  • Breathe a positive feeling or attitude.
  • Be objective, as if the issue or problem is someone else’s.
  • Rest peacefully in this neutral state, allowing your heart intelligence new perspectives and possibilities.
  • Soak and relax all resistances and disturbing or perplexing feelings in your heart’s compassion.
  • Ask for guidance, then be patient and receptive. While awaiting an answer from the heart find something or someone to genuinely appreciate.

Power of the Heart

heartmath, The mind

The heart is the very first organ that develops in the embryo. It is then responsible for the formation of the other organs like the brain. What does that tell us? Well, according to the HeartMath institute, not only does the heart respond to the brain, but the brain continuously responds to the heart. Our […]

Walking Meditation

meditation, The mind

Exercise is known to boost the good hormones in the body making us feel shamazing!! But sometimes its good to just skip the gym and get outside and go for a walk in the brisk open air.  Even better is to go into nature and surround yourself with the beauty of mother earth.  There is something so uplifting about being around trees and feeling the fresh air on your skin.

That is exactly what I did today, after my morning meditation and yoga routine I decided I would brave the Scottish Winter and go for a long walk in the country.  My beautiful husky accompanied me on this walk and I left my headphones at home so I could immerse myself in the moment.

I listened to each crunch my feet made in the snow, I paid attention to each step (more so I wouldn’t slip)  and when my mind wandered I brought it back to my steps.  I breathed in the fresh air with a smile and I looked at every passing tree with gratitude filling my chest.  I filled my heart centre with so much joy and gratitude and smiled the whole way round.  This walk I seen herons, pheasants and squirrels and a few little mice that my dog tried to jump on but I am sure I would not have noticed all these animals If I had been lost in thought.

Taking time to slowly walk and fill your heart with joy practicing bringing the mind back everytime it goes off on it own for a wander, gently guiding it back to the present moment time and time again.

My HeartMath Experience

happy times, mind hacking, The mind

I discovered Heartmath techniques along with so many other’s when I was at a lower point in my life.  My energy was low, I was anxious for no reason!!!None that I could find as my mind was working overtime.  I am not one to wallow in it, yes I hit hurdles but I get back up and keep on trying…what other option is there..  LOTS..I later discovered.

So I discovered HeartMath, bought the earpiece and hooked it up to my ipad.  It felt like a futuristic way to meditate but it is so much more than sitting clearing your mind and if you stick at it you will feel the difference.

Below are the steps for heart focused breathing – once you get this down, add some of your fave tunes.  I found my face aches after doing a session, I just smile all the way through it really relishing my memories of amazing adventures and loving the good tunes along the way

There are three steps:

Step 1: Heart Focus. Focus your attention on the area around your heart, the area in the center of your chest. The first couple of times you try it, place your hand over the center of your chest to help keep your attention in the heart area.

Step 2: Heart Breathing. Breathe deeply but normally and feel as if your breath is coming in and going out through your heart area. As you inhale, feel as if your breath is flowing in through the heart, and as you exhale, feel it leaving through this area. Breathe slowly and casually, a little deeper than normal. Continue breathing with ease until you find a natural inner rhythm that feels good to you.

Step 3: Heart Feeling. As you maintain your heart focus and heart breathing, activate a positive feeling. Recall a positive feeling, a time when you felt good inside, and try to re-experience the feeling. It may be a memory of your family or your children when they were young.  One of the easiest ways to generate a positive, heart-based feeling is to remember a special place you’ve been or the love you feel for a close friend or family member or treasured pet. This is the most important step.

Quick Coherence® is especially useful when you start to feel a draining emotion such as frustration, irritation, anxiety or stress. Using Quick Coherence at the onset of less intense negative emotions can keep them from escalating into something worse. This technique is especially useful after you’ve had an emotional blowup to bring yourself back into balance quickly.
