Tom Bilyeu is an American entrepreneur best known as a co-founder of billion dollar brand Quest Nutrition, at one time the second fastest growing private company in North America. Tom is now a self-development speaker and founder of Impact Theory.

I love to listen to his show Impact Theory on Youtube, when your feeling a little down or like your life is going no where fast then listen to him and his guests and you are sure to be fired up with the level of wisdom and sheer motivational words that are in each and every interview.

A few tips from him are below and have a watch of his video..

1. Don’t ask what’s the least you can do. Ask what’s the most you can bear.

The standards you set for your effort determine the kind of results you’ll get. There’s no secret ingredient. You have to do the work.

2. Dissect how you spend your time. It reveals your priorities.

Look where you spend your attention. Are you always distracted on social media or entertainment websites? Are you focused on mega success or temporary comfort?

3. It’s about identity. Be the kind of person that gets things done. Even when it’s hard.

Tony Robbins agrees that the strongest force in the world is to act in accordance with your self-image, your identity. How to change that? Draw a line in your mind and DECIDE to be known as the hardest worker in your circle from this point forward.

4. Confidence is deciding you’re unstoppable. Not that you’ll never fail. – Tom Bilyeu

We gain confidence from taking action, take the first step today the momentum you gain will grow each day until you are unstoppable. Do not fear failure do you think anyone who has achieved great success looks back on their small failures and cries about it? No in fact they are GRATEFUL for their mistakes, because they know that is where grew the most in momentum and knowledge.

5. The level of effort you tolerate from yourself will define your life.

Some people find reasons to work less, others find reasons to work more. The results, unfortunately, reflect your efforts, not your reasons.

6. Don’t let joy be an accident. Create it.

Make conscious choices to create joy. Do the things you love more often. Work towards something you love. Passion makes hard work seem easy.

7. What price are you willing to pay for greatness?

Greatness comes from sacrificing comfort. You have too get the time wasters out of your life binge watching TV, going out every weekend, social media what is it that you waste time on? Change your habits. Change your life.

8. If you look for the negative, it will be there. If you look for the positive, it will OVERWHELM you.

People can talk themselves into action, but they can also talk themselves in to quitting. What are you talking yourself into right now?

9. The way to build a big business is to take care of people.

Rewire for Confidence

The adult brain is much more changeable and modifiable than had previously been believed. There is now a large amount of evidence to show that damaged neural (brain) circuitry resulting from severe childhood trauma can be corrected, reshaping our brain anatomy and consequent behaviour, with the right kind of therapeutic interventions. In other words, it is now clear that brain architecture continues to change throughout adulthood, and this can be manipulated in highly beneficial directions

Your brain is constantly adapting and rewiring itself. Your thoughts and behaviors influence this process. If certain thoughts and behaviors are repeated often enough, a strong connection, also known as a neural pathway, is created.

One reason why it is so difficult to change the way you think, feel, and behave is that your beliefs and corresponding neural pathways have been formed early in life. They have been reinforced and strengthened, over and over again. In other words, your brain activity has carved out a deep and well traveled road. If that road remains and no new roads are built and strengthened, it is very difficult to change your ways, and you will easily fall back into old patterns. Creating and strengthening new, positive neural pathways is an essential part of achieving lasting change.

The good news is that we all have the ability to learn and change by rewiring our brains. If you have ever changed a bad habit, or thought about something differently, you have carved a new pathway in your brain, experiencing neuroplasticity firsthand. With repeated and directed attention towards your desired change, you can effectively rewire your brain to move forward and live a healthy, abundant life.

 

So to be confident is to take action, but how does one begin acting confidently? Practice playing the confidence scales, i.e., take small steps in your daily life that accumulate into confidence. 

  • Reinforce and internalize every positive experience, no matter how small.
  • Remember, in detail, the best memories you have had when you were confident or really in a flow state.
  • Intentionally call up your strengths and focus on how good it is to feel strong, confident, etc…
  • Set goals (intentions) and be sure all levels of your nervous system (thoughts, emotions, intentions, arousal) are all in sync. Then, act as if you have already achieved your goal.

Consciously practice thinking, feeling, visualizing and acting in alignment with your desired intention. When you do this you will stop the unconscious habit of recycling the past and activate your ability to rewire your brain in the present moment.

I have heard of Affirmations and practiced them on and off but after listening to Tony Robbins I discovered what he does on a daily basis, and if its good enough for good ole Tony then why not give it a shot.

He creates the emotion he desires with such intensity in his body and keeps it there, repeating these words with such passion

The Science of Happiness

Can we really train ourselves to become Happier??

Why this is what I am finding out and have daily rituals in order for me to become happier, I am not saying I am always happy, but I tend not to stick around too long in negative emotions.  This is what my mindfulness practice has taught me over the years.

Our happiness level is a result of a complex interatction of genes, behaviours and whats going on in our lives at a specific moment int itme.  And while each of us has a genetic set point for happiness in the way we do for weith, we have the ability to offset it, which brings us to the most impostant takeaway from the scientific research.  You have the power to take control of your happiness by choosing your thoughts, behaviours and actions.  This is a skill and needs to be developed each day much like an athlete trains their body.

Personally for me I find that daily mindfulness exercises, listening to motivational speakers, working out, dancing, playing and generally not taking life too seriously.  Doing little things each day to make a positive difference.

Thought Journal * Gratitude Notes * Sticky Notes of Mirrors * Affirmations * Incantations * Laughing * Pretending to be someone else(Someone you admire who just loves life)  Mirror their behaviour when you feel yourself in a low spot and fake it till it feels real.

 

Four Ways of Changing Your Mind

All of us, yes including you, can safely and easily rewrite limiting subconscious programs using one of four fundamental ways to install new subconscious behaviors: (1) through hypnosis, the way we learned the programs in the first 7 years of life; (2) through repetition and the creation of “habits,” the primary way we acquire subconscious programs after age 7; (3) an individual may rapidly rewrite programs after an overwhelming or psychologically-traumatizing life experience (e.g., being diagnosed with a terminal illness); lastly, (4) there are new belief modification programs, some known as energy psychology, that engage the brain’s super-learning processes, allowing programs to be changed in minutes.  (Bruce Lipton

Some Energy Healing Modalities, Psych – K, Eft, Tft, Mindfulness, Hypnosis, Affirmations (Tony Robbins Incantations) Done Daily, repeating New behaviours in order for it to be stored in the computer part of our brain – the subconscious mind.

Be mindful of our thoughts in order for us to change our emotions.  Practice repeatedly the  new behaviour instead of focusing on the old behaviours.

Be Who Ever You Choose to BE

You actually have the power to be and to feel however you want. And anyone that has a vision for who they want to be and their life should be doing this. Every day.

Here’s how it works, in a super abbreviated nutshell:
• Your brain is a record of the past and a reflection of your external environment.
• You basically do the same thing every day — in essentially the same way (think of your routine: you brush your teeth the same way, you have your auto-pilot shower routine, take the same route to work, etc). This is your reality. You produce the same experiences that create the same emotions. You see the same people that push the same emotional buttons. You are thinking the same thoughts, performing the same actions, and living by the same emotions.
• You process 60-70,000 thoughts per day. And a whopping 90% of these are the same as the day before.
• The same thoughts will lead to the same choices. The same choices will create the same behaviors. The same behaviors will produce the same experiences, which will create the same emotions, and then — back to square one — drive the same thoughts.
• The good news is that you can change the pattern.
• But to change you need to think greater than your environment, greater than the circumstances of your life.

These are words from the great Dr Joe Dispenza.  I started to do his meditations, along with mindfulness.  Changing your thoughts is a full time process in the beginning, becoming aware of all the thoughts and keeping an eye on them to see what loops that are playing.  Then change them, visualise, self talk, creating the new emotion and repeat.

Personally I watched mind movies and listened to motivational speeches everyday.  I practice mindfulness, energy healing (donna eden energy routine) Exercise and eating well.  Do not give up, it takes a while for it to sink in to the subconscious mind but over time it will change.

REIKI – Anxiety and Panick

 I have been practicing Reiki for 10 years and use Reiki in my daily life.  I use reiki on my family/pets/food/plants and of course myself.  I find it gives me a sense of being present and when practiced daily you too will find the wonderful benefits of this calming treatment.

 My own personal experience with Reiki has been my own unique journey and yours will be too.  Reiki came into my life when I needed it the most, when I was experiencing anxiety and panick attacks

Looking back on my  journey now I am so thankful that I had experienced these anxieties within my past as it is a part of my journey.  Reiki and Mindfulness Meditation has made me face myself, my fears and emotions that I buried inside my subconscious mind.  During my time with reiki I have gone through many emotions myself and discovered a lot about the way my mind works. 

I felt a fake at times as I was experiencing anxiety and I was the one trying to help people.  This lead me to delve a lot deeper into how the mind works (chimp paradox- mind management book  – highly recommend this one if you experience negative emotions surfacing) along with daily practice of reiki and meditation.

 

You don’t need to have health problems to be a great Reiki Master but what I will tell you is that throughout your own life’s journey with Reiki you will experience many different emotions and revelations within yourself. 

 

Reiki is not just a course you do then you get a certificate and that’s you a Reiki Master.  This is a lifelong commitment that you make to yourself to fully immerse yourself into this. 

 

I must admit I didn’t understand this at all when I did my Reiki one and Two.  I thought it was just a nice course I could do to help myself and get money from people to help them. 

 

It is so much more than this.   It is a way of life, a daily practice, it really does make you a better person if you truly want to be.  Everyone wants to grow both emotionally, physically and spiritually and with Reiki you will grow in all areas of your life.

Pause, Breathe and Change

Been reading and practicing daily Dr Joe Dispenza Meditation for improving the emotional aspect of my personality that I have no use for.  I do not need to feel anxious or live fearfully that anxiety may show its face so I say CHANGE out loud when I feel that horrible anxiety feeling inside my stomach.  Okay so I don’t shout it out loud in the middle of a supermarket but I will say change, I then bring about the new personality that I am creating for myself.

So how do you choose this new personality – Look at someone that has the personality that you would like and pretend you are them.  I am not saying – don’t be yourself and change your whole personality.  It is just one aspect such as irrational fear or anger, this is not useful to us and we must show our self compassion and love.

So who did I pick…now I like the calmness of the Dali lama, I love the ambition and confidence of Will Smith, I also love the light heartedness of Peter Kay.  So depending on a situation, I choose one of these dudes to emulate.  I don’t crack jokes or sit and share my wisdom from my years of sitting in meditation, but I do visualise in my head how they would deal with a situation and take a few breaths in feeling pure joy and I have a little word with myself.

I like to listen to motivational speeches on youtube or Spotify and generate that feeling within me of being happy motivated.

One day I will Master my mind, but for now I do lots of things daily and am on my way to a calmer more confident patient mind.

Steps for Quick Coherence Technique:

Step 1: Focus your attention in the area of the heart. Imagine your breath is flowing in and out of your heart or chest area, breathing a little slower and deeper than usual.

Suggestion: Inhale 5 seconds, exhale 5 seconds (or whatever rhythm is comfortable)

Step 2: Make a sincere attempt to experience a regenerative feeling such as appreciation or care for someone or something in your life.

Suggestion: Try to re-experience the feeling you have for someone you love, a pet, a special place, an accomplishment, etc. or focus on a feeling of calm or ease.

So what is everyones happy place?  The memory that first popped into your mind where you were truly happy.   No drunken pill popping moments, boo… I have so many of those ones.. They have to be real happy moments from your heart.

So what was mine.  –  I was in Magaluf, Party Heaven. Yes I know I said no drunken ones and this really isn’t.  So picture this.. Its Daytime, its sunny and I am on a Pedalo with my friend and little brother who  came to visit me for a holiday.  (I was a Pr rep living the dream!) Well,  her little brother was desperate for a pee but was scared that sharks would get him..He was 14 and a little drama queen and I loved to wind him up!! So I told him to just pee in the water..so he did..Then we wouldn’t let him back on the pedalo and I nearly wet myself laughing at him splashing around screaming like a little girl…Ok so I sound like a cruel b*tch but honestly he was laughing too…It has always stuck with me as It was true hilarity and a beautiful care free day with only fun and games on my mind.
